Since its inception, ASAP has been relentlessly ‘empowering’ the youth of Kerala through globally-relevant ‘employable skills’ in 85 trades spread across 23 sectors. ASAP added value to the lives of over 1,50,000 students through skill training programmes. Now ASAP can rightfully claim the status of the largest training agency in the country with 30000 students in 1000 batches are trained on a regular basis throughout the year.
Historically Kerala is well known for global exporting of quality human resource. In 2012, the state embarked on an ambitious initiative called Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) to further equip its students with the skills demanded by prominent industries along with the regular studies.
ASAP also proved its capabilities in course framework development, courseware development, trainer development and quality assurance.
In order to strengthen its services to people and the industry, the idea of setting up Community Skill Parks has been mooted under ASAP
subsequently. Community Skill Parks are large state-of-the-art multi skill training facilities that are being built across the state for providing higher order skill training to citizens with a vision to better their livelihood along with making the state economy stronger.

VIRTUAL SPACE AND CAPACITY EXPANSION THROUGH HUB AND SPOKE MODEL
Hub and spoke model is an innovative method for the virtual expansion of training facility and its capacity.The training facility at CSPs will be enhanced manifold by linking them with nearby academic institutions in a Hub and Spoke model with CSP as the Hub. This innovative training space management model also enhances the capacity of each spoke and provides tremendous growth opportunities to public as well as private academic and training facilities around each CSP.
