The First Governing Committee Meeting of Community Skill Park (CSP) Kulakkada, Kollam was conducted on 23 January 2019. The session was started under the chairmanship of Shri. Radhakrishnan, ADM as designated by district collector and later Dr. S Karthikeyan, District Collector joined the discussion at the collectorate conference hall. The Governing Committee convener and Senior Programme Manager i/c CSP Kulakkada Shri. Anoop welcomed the gathering.

The Director CSP Division, Shri. P Anil Prasad presented the Community Skill Park concept. Among the nine CSPs those get commissioning, CSP Kulakkada will be the first one to be inaugurated on 02. 02. 2019 by Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala. He also formally invited all the Governing Committee members to the inaugural function. He emphasized the role of Governing Committee in the effective and efficient operations of CSP.

The District Collector Explained the aim and agenda of the meeting which include the discussion and approval of Training plan for CSP – Kulakkada. He also stressed on the role that Community Skill Park can take in shaping the future of Kollam District.

Jayachandran A C – State Programme Manager – Synchroserv Global Solutions presented the training plan for CSP Kulakkada.

Industrial Representatives Shri. Len Philip (Distric President, KSSIA – Kollam), Shri. Vivek Ajith (President JCI, Kolam), Academic Member Dr. S Ayoob (Principal, TKM College of Engineering, Kollam), LSG Representatives Shri. The first Governing Committee meeting of Community Skill Park Pandikkadu, Malappuram was held at Collectorate Malappuram on 06 Dec 2018, Thursday. District Collector Mr. Amit Meena, IAS chaired the meeting. Participated members of the committee were Prof (Dr).V P Sasidharan MD (Former Principal, Govt. Medical College, Kozhikode – Academic Expert), Dr. E K Ummer (State President IMA – Industry Member), Mrs. Bushra K (LSG Representative) and Mr. Rajeev Namiar, Zonal Head, Apollo Medskills- Representative of the Operating Partner). District Collector who is also the Chairman of the Governance Committee chaired the meeting and delivered a very encouraging keynote address. In his keynote address the District  Collector stressed on the need for bridging the gap between the aspiration of people and the demand of the industry.  Mr. Binish George, Senior Progrmme Manager in charge of CSP welcomed the participants. Director of Skill  Park Project Mr. P Anil Prasad addressed the committee with introductory presentation on CSP. Dr. Rammya, Training Head Apollo Medskills presented Training Plan of the Operating Partner for January to March 2019. The committee discussed and approved the courses suggested. The committee also provided invaluable suggestions for the preparation of the annual plan for the financial year 2019-20.

Dr. Prakasam, Head Quality (ASAP)Head Quality , ASAP explained the  general skill Procedures of ASAP. Mr. Aneesh, DPM Malappuran, Mrs. Aleema Asif, Mr. Vishnu J, Mr. Sankaran K – Programme Managers CSP Division, Ms. Razeena O, Programme Manager, ASAP SDC Vengara were also attended the meeting.

ASAP organized Community Skill Park Partners’ Meet and Industry Connect for Skills 2018 (IC4 Skills – 2018) on 28th Nov, 2018 in Thiruvananthapuram.  Community Skill Parks is an ambitious project under Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), which is being implemented with  the vision of “Skills for better livelihood and stronger economy”. The website of CSP was also launched in the venue.

Both the Partner’s Meet and IC4 Skills were platforms to facilitate collaboration among the Industry Partners to build a stronger skill development ecosystem in the state . The Partners Meet was an exclusive platform for the Operating Partners, who have been selected to run the  CSPs on PPP mode, to discuss the operationalization of CSPs as well as to strengthen collaboration among them for the same. It started with the introductory address of Dr. Usha Titus, Principal Secretary (Higher Education), Government of Kerala. All the Operating Partners for the fist phase CSPs who have signed agreements with ASAP have participated at the meet. Ms. Reetha S Prabha, CEO ASAP chaired the meet. Other officials from ASAP also participated. The discussions were very creative and fruitful towards achieving the objective of strengthening partnerships.

IC4 Skills started in the afternoon with the inaugural address and the launching of the website of CSP by Hon’ble Minister. All the Agreements signed with the Operating Partners were also formally exchanged between the CEO (ASAP) and the Operating Partners in the presence of Hon’ble Minister and the Principal Secretary (Higher Education). Thereafter the participating Industries introduced themselves and the Operating Partners of CSPs hosted separate round table discussions. At the end of the discussions, all the Operating Partners and other participants commented unanimously that the event was uniquely effective in building partnerships and hence the objective of IC4 Skills 2018 has been achieved. The event was successfully concluded with the Concluding Remarks of Dr. Usha Titus, Principal Secretary (Higher Education).
